There’s no doubt that having tinted windows on your vehicle looks appealing. Most people are drawn to cars with tints because they tend to look more sleek and classy. Although, are there more benefits than appearance? Premier Tint Pros truly believes that adding window tint to your vehicle can provide many benefits for you and your family that are more than appearance. Here are 5 benefits of tinting your vehicle UV ProtectionHave you ever gotten a driver’s tan? As in, a tan that noticeably darker on your left side of your upper-body from driving in your car. Having a driver’s tan is common for those who have long commutes to/from work, or drive for work. Not only can you get this tan while the window is down, but you can get the tan while the window is up. Ultraviolet (UV) rays aren’t blocked by glass, but it is blocked by window tint. Although you typically won’t get sun burned while driving, there is still exposure to UV rays. This exposure can increase chances of sun damaged skin and skin cancer. The Skin Cancer Foundation states that nearly 53% of all U.S. skin cancer cases occur on the left side of the body. The Skin Cancer Foundation believes this can be attributed to the UV rays that are received while driving. Interior ProtectionLeather cracks, and your car isn’t immune to that. Over time, leather seats and upholstery can crack or even fade if you do not take proper precautions. Just as window tinting protects people from UV rays, it also protects the interior of the car. Blocking the UV light from effecting your interior will directly help the longevity of your upholstery from cracking and fading. Reduce Heat & GlareWindow tinting acts similar to a shade for your house windows. When the shade exposed (tint on) it reduces the heat that is let into your house from sunlight. On the contrary, when you do not have tinted windows, your car is exposed to absorb heat from the sun. Adding film window tint to your car you can decrease the interior temperature even before you get in it during the hot, summer months. In the summer months, the sun does not only create a heat control issue, but also a glare issue. The sun’s rays can be very distracting while driving and can cause accidents. The National Motor Vehicle Crash Causation survey created by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration states that 16% of environment-related crashes are related to glares from the sun. That is roughly 8,700 crashes per year. Avoiding a glare on your windshield or front windows will allow you to focus more on the road and be more aware of your surroudnings. How much heat control and glare control your window tint is providing depends on the grade of tint you receive. Higher end, Ceramic, tints will provide the greatest amount of heat control and glare reduction. Safety and securityOne of the best reasons for tinting your vehicle’s windows is for safety and security. Leaving your belongings in your vehicle unattended make most people nervous depending on the value of the belonging left. Often times it is seen that thieves target vehicles that they can see into so there are no surprises when they break in. Therefore, having darker windows through window tints, can help deter theft because people cannot see into your car as easily. Not only can the window tint help deter theft, but the window tint can help protect you physically. Window tint is a piece of film that is one sheet per window. Since this tint is sealed to your tint in one sheet, it prevents shattering of glass during accidents. If an object hits your window or you are in a collision, the tint should hold up in one piece, as the glass on the other side of the tint may have cracked. Privacy for passengersHaving window tints is similar to a two-way mirror. The person on the inside of the car can see out, but the person outside the car cannot see in. How much the person can see in to your car depends on the darkness of your tint you choose. If you choose a lighter tint at 20%, then it will be harder to see in, opposed to a 35% tint. Having window tints can give a peace of mind to your passengers as it gives them privacy from the outside. BTW, Check out this special!Call today and book your appointment 630-488-0813

Flat Glass Window TintingAutomotive window tinting is very popular, but it isn’t the only window tinting around. Flat glass architectural window tinting is very common in commercial space and growing in residential areas. There are many benefits for each that quickly outweigh the cost of installation. Below are the benefits of flat glass window tinting for both residential and commercial use. ResidentialEnergy Savings. Having tinted windows on your house allows for a heat reduction in your home that is caused by the sun from UV rays. In summer months, the sun can be relentless and cause homes to increase in temperature, causing the air conditioning to run. Adding a window tint film can help control the temperature of your home and reduce those hot spots that are caused by sun rays that make the air conditioning turn on. Many times, people leave their shades closed during the summer to help prevent the hot spots caused by the windows allowing sun rays to penetrate the house. Although window shades can help, having tinted windows can allow for your home to function efficiently while being able to look out the window and enjoy the daylight. Check out our Energy Savings Calculator Depending on when your home was built, it could still have the original windows from the build. Original windows are not bad, but they may not be energy efficient. Typically, windows are changed due to inefficiency, deterioration or damage. While window tinting cannot help with deterioration or damage, it can help with efficiency without having to replace the whole window. Time and money are saved, in addition to adding value to your home. Increased Safety. Adding a layer of film on the back of glass transforms the glass to become shatter-proof. Therefore, the glass can withstand storms and natural disaster such as earthquakes. Whether the tint is clear colored, the adhesive binds the glass together to prevent shattering. CommercialIncreased Tenant Satisfaction. If you are in the real estate industry and have properties that you lease out, then having flat glass window tints on your buildings windows can help increase tenants’ satisfaction and can help you increase cost the cost of rent. Tinting your building means that your tenants will experience less glare from the sun. It is common for the architecture of large commercial buildings have windows from the top to the bottom of the wall. In that case, having tinted windows will allow the architecture to still stand out, without having tenants complain about the glare that comes through the windows. Of course, using shades can have a similar impact, but do not look as sophisticated and is impractical for the windows towards the top of the wall. Plus, tinted windows increase the aesthetics and style of buildings which can help raise rent prices to next time there is space available.
Energy Efficient. Similarly, to residential homes, commercial buildings are proven to be more energy efficient with tinted windows. The window tints provide a protect from the UV rays that the sun projects. By blocking those rays, it prevents the building from heating up due to the intense summer sun. Often times with large commercial buildings, there are more windows and taller windows than residential homes. Therefore, the sun has a greater ability to impact the commercial space due to large amounts of windows. Adding window film can prevent windows creating hot spots that drive up energy bills. Check out our Energy Savings Calculator Provides Privacy to Clients. If your office space is used as a store front or to meet with clients, then having tinted windows is imperative. No matter if a customer is shopping for a new bed or meeting a lawyer about a court case, customers appreciate privacy. Tinted windows resemble two-way mirrors in which you can see out of the tints very well from the inside, but it is difficult to see through the tint from the outside. Reduce Glare, Increase Comfortability. There is always that time of the day when the sun hits your window in the right spot and you can’t be in a certain area. And maybe that’s happened during one of your meetings with a client and you couldn’t look at their face anymore because the sun was glaring in from behind. Having window film applied to the building will help reduce glares as the film protects against UV rays. This will allow you to know every space is usable at all times of the day, instead of working around the glare. This will increase comfortability for you and your clients that visit, and increase productive work spaces. How hard is it really to tint my own car?We get this question time to time. Some customers hear the price $195 for a full tint, “well I can just tint it myself” not something we usually suggest but if you want to really try here is a few suggestions.
Supplies needed: A clean facility No dog hair, cat hair, dust, anything that can get on the tint (note you won’t see these items until the tint dries and then you have to start over again after you peel the dry film off and remove all the glue) Heat gun No, your hair dryer will not cut it. Spray bottle With water and a tint solution. Tint tools Special red dot blade holder, 50 pack of razor blades for your blade holder. About 4 or 5 different tools that are different for each tinter. (You will most likely need to borrow these tools because if you purchased them you mine as well have gone to us for tinting at that price.) Quality film This is the hardest problem you will have. You cannot buy quality film. Only quality film manufacturers sell to tint shops. And if you perhaps are lucky enough to get your hand on a box of film it won’t be under warranty. The manufactures only warranty the film if one of their installers install it. Make sure you buy a lot of extra film. Most back window is very hard and it will take about 2 or 3 times to get it right. Patients A professional tinter will take about 2 hours from the time the car pulls in todelivery. Expect to triple or quadruple that time. Cell Phone or computer You will want to watch about 3 to 4 hours of YouTube videos before you start the project. Study their methods of shrinking, cutting, installing, and removing gaskets, how to property clean the windows, what kind of solution you can or cannot use. Now you are on your way to tinting your car. Once you have finished make sure you take pictures of the finished product. Post them, be proud. Now, here is what to watch for over the next three to four weeks. Little bubbles: These are normal but should be gone after 3 weeks Large bubbles: Not normal, borrow those tools again, heat it up and hope it goes away. If not, take it off and redo it. Make sure you google “how to remove tint” Little wiggles: Yep, that is the hair or dirt. Sorry, redo… Lifting: Too much water. Take it off… start over. Turning purple: Sorry, most film that is sold on the streets comes with a two-year warranty but even those have to be installed by an professional shop. HERES OUR NUMBER TWO TIP: DON’T REMOVE FILM BY PEELING IT OF! THIS IS A NO NO NO! Film must be steamed off with a steamer on your back windows. Think of your back window defrosters as facial hair and wax. Rip it off and your defroster lines will have a new home on their forever tint in your garbage can. Give your vehicle the love it deserves! Keep the inside of your car clean Nothing is more embarrassing than having trash in your car. With a car full of garbage and trash people will think you are a slob. Here are a few tips to keep your car clean.
Be proactive with symptoms When you hear a sound in your car and you KNOW it’s not right, don’t wait to see if it gets worse. You will have a piece of mind that your car is going to be okay, instead of wondering if or when it will break down. Schedule service appointments Your car has a body too and it needs regular checkups. Scheduling at least two service appointments a year will help you keep your car running longer and stronger. Keep your fluids topped off Did you know that most relationships fights could be ignored by just topping off your car fluids? How many times has your partner yelled at your for not filling up the gas tank before coming home? Or filling up the window washer fluid? Checking your fluids every time you get gas will save you hours of fighting per year, and make you more productive each morning. (hint, that is why they have paper towels next to the garbage can too!) Pay attention to your tires Talk about a buzz kill! Nothing ruins your day more than a flat tire! When you are done pumping gas... check your tires! (Another hint, that is why they have air pumps at gas stations too! I know…. If they work) Listen to your service technician You might think that it is a taboo that all service advisors or technician is out to get you. However, most shops really do want to take care of you and your car. They want to keep you as a long-term client, not someone to just rip off once and lose you forever. If they say you need a repair and are unsure, take it for a second opinion. Pay your tickets and toll fines Nothing is worse than wondering if you are going to get a boot on your car. And if you live in Chicago and owe money, don’t think about parking at the airport. You will get booted. Call the city and work something out. You will realize they will work with you.
