Skin cancer is the leading form of cancer in the United States. The Center of Disease Control and Prevention center estimates that over the last three decades more Americans have had skin cancer than all the other cancers combined. The rates of Melanoma have doubled in the last decade. With the amount of time we are spending in our cars we are increasing our risk of skin damage every day. Many of us think that by driving in our cars with the air is on, we reduce our exposure to ultraviolet light. However, while the windows used in cars have a manufacturer glare tint they may limit UVB rays, 50% of UVA rays can still pass through. In addition, many Manufacturer tints do not have any UV Protection at all. UVA rays cause fading and damage to your vehicle including the dash board and leather seats. But more imperative is the harm it does to your skin. Destructive UVA rays cause skin cancers and damage, premature aging and eye disorders. Tinting your car windows can reduce this risk dramatically. All of our window tint at Premier Tint Pros in Oswego is 99% UV protective. This isn’t just an issue in the summer. UVA rays penetrate all year round, even when the weather is cloudy or hazy. According to the CDC, the most dangerous time is late spring to early summer, between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. DST (9 a.m. to 3 p.m. ST). Therefore, the best thing to do is to install window tint on your cars. The most versatile and affordable option is window film. If you have bad memories of the 1980’s brown or mirrored tinting, never fear. We’ve come a long way since those days. Modern advances to window films mean that applications can be anything from clear to a variety of light densities, reducing as much as 30-80% of visible light. A window film will reduce 99.9% of UVA rays, protecting your family from the harmful effects of the sun with almost a clear coat of film. LLumar even carries a 80% AIR window film that will give you a full protection without the look of window tint. Premier Tint Pros uses LLumar window films which carry The Skin Cancer Seal of Recommendation. Call us now for more information or visit our website. Thanks for pointing out that skin cancer is the leading form of cancer in the US. This is helpful because my husband and I want to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for our five kids. With this, we are hoping to find experts in window tinting on Monday to block more than 99% of the harmful UV rays in our two-story house.
